some exciting news....

Hi,

Before I forget, I have some exciting news... we're going to have another niece or nephew! Siska (Rudi's sister) and Justin are expecting a baby. She's due April 14th, 2010. A little brother or sister for Logan. We're so excited for them!

My sister, Anyke, is due any day now..

We are doing really good. We had a fun weekend. We went to Ann Morrison park in Boise, early Saturday morning for the Women's Fitness Celebration. Together with Siska and Logan, we handed out milk to all the people that walked (or ran) the marathon. It was a lot of fun and a beautiful sunny day. Tys and Nieko came along as well. We spent the rest of the day in Boise. Then we were invited to Rudi's parents (new) home to have dinner. Rudi's parents went on vacation and brought presents back for all of us. Well, the exciting part is, is that we had frikandellen and kroketten for dinner (These are my favorite Dutch snacks!) Yum!!! It was delicious.

On Sunday we went to church and after church I dropped of Rudi at the airport, because he was flying to Madison, Wisconsin, to be at World Dairy Expo. He had a great time there and spent time with our friends, Michael and Carrie and their kids, Madison and Noah, from Florida! Rudi came home today, I just went and picked him up from the airport.

Well, the cold weather is finally here. On Monday we had a warm day, 90F!!! And today the high is 58F! So that's a big change... It feels super cold, plus it's windy too.

Dirk (Rudi's brother) and his wife, Molly and their two sons, Arie and Ioan, got here on Sunday night. They're staying with Cory (Rudi's other brother) and Katie. Ioan is one month younger than Nieko and they're about the same weight!

Nieko turned three months on Monday, he weighed 12lbs 14oz. (Tys weighed that much when he was 2 months!) He's doing really good. He's still my sweet baby!

It seems like Tys is learning a lot these days. He's really starting to communicate a lot and he understands everything I say to him (in Dutch that is). He doesn't talk yet, but he knows a lot. He's getting to be such a big boy! He just changed from diaper size 4 to 5.. I got all his winter clothes out and thankfully they seem about the right size...

Fall is here...

Yes, the fall is officially here. Today is a beautiful, sunny and warm day though! We love it.
We've had a very nice weekend. On Saturday we went to the Farmers Market in Boise, with Peter and Miriam and their kids; Gideon and Moriah! We had a lot of fun and walked on the greenbelt for a little bit after the farmers market.

Time flies when you're having fun!

Hi!

Well, I can't believe it's already been a week since I've last updated the blog! We've had a great week and weekend. The weather here is still very warm! Today it is 90F. The mornings and night are getting cooler, which is nice.

Well, I'm pretty excited to announce that we have planned our next trip to Holland! I will be flying there with Cory and Katie (Rudi's brother and his wife) and, of course, Tys and Nieko. We're going April 21st. Then Rudi is going to fly on the 5th of May. And the four of us are leaving May 19th. So I'll be there for almost a whole month! I am super excited and really looking forward to it. I have 2 nephews and 1 niece I've never met, and one more sister is going to have a baby next month. And all of my family will get to meet little Nieko! It's going to be so nice to share our joys with the people we love, our family!

Well, other than that things are going good - just normal. Nieko is just growing and being as sweet as can be, he now weighs 12lbs 5oz. He's smaller then when Tys was that age - I think it's because he sleeps all the way through the night! We think they don't look much alike. Nieko's face is quite a bit narrower than Tys', Nieko just looks more like a "de Vries..".
But they do have similarities too, of course.

Tys loves his little brother so much, anytime he comes to give Nieko a kiss, Nieko just starts smiling, it's very cute to see and I think they'll be close friends. They already love each other. Tys is almost a year and a half now, and he's turning into a real toddler! It is a lot of fun though, and Tys is a pretty good listener (when he chooses to be). He is starting to get very helpful, throwing things in the garbage for his mom! So far, it's only been things that I've asked him to throw in there, thankfully...

We don't really have any news here!
My sisters new baby is doing well... her siblings are so excited and they just love their new baby-sister!

Nieko now weighs 11 lbs 15 oz.
he's doing good and is still just as sweet as can be! He always smiles...

She weighed 9 dutch pounds (almost 10 lbs!)

She was born at home.

Her mommy is Margriet, which is my oldest sister. Her daddy is Dirk Jan

And she has two big sisters; Marije (almost 7), Sanne (5)
and a big brother; Ruben (almost 3)
